Our Story
Elnora Eskridge grew up in Buckatunna, Mississippi, where neighbors were treated like family and helping others was simply a way of life. She welcomed anyone who needed a meal, a kind word, or a place to rest. She cared for seniors, encouraged children, and supported families facing hard times.
Her guiding principles were simple but powerful: love, care, and share.
Elnora was a devoted mother of 13 children: seven daughters and six sons. Life brought challenges — limited resources, health struggles, and the everyday pressures of raising such a large family — but she met each one with grace and determination. She believed deeply in education, in taking care of your health, and in lifting others up whenever you could. Her influence shaped generations, teaching her children and grandchildren to serve their communities, honor their elders, and make sure every person felt seen and valued.
As the Eskridge family grew, they watched loved ones battle diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer, and dementia — conditions that affect countless families across the country. Those experiences strengthened their commitment to continue the work Elnora modeled so naturally. From that commitment, The Eskridge Foundation was born.
